  • Modeled deformation behavior of gasket support features in ANSYS
  • Loaded production parts with 3D printed load mask to validate FEA results
  • Scanned deformed parts with laser, converted data into a mesh inspectable in CAD using Python
  • Top Down design to distill complex part into a simplified representative model for fast communication with mold tooling suppliers

Results.

  • Proved that overmolding on current gen componant is not possible
  • Provided valuable design insight for next generation part
